About the role We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have a new opportunity for a Field Maintenance Fitter - Underground Mining to join our South Island Mining Services Team in Macrae's Mine. The role will operate on an 8/6 roster and our preference is to have candidates who would consider moving to the Otago Region. Accommodation may be provided for the right candidate/s considering DIDO or FIFO. Reporting to the Orica Supervisor, the Field Maintenance Fitter will provide breakdown technical support and field support maintenance for all of Orica's mobile plant at the Macrae's Mine site. What you will be doing Assisting Orica sites with scheduled servicing, repairs, breakdown support and general servicing of all mobile and fixed plant and machinery; Assist the Territory and Site Managers to manage a maintenance plan for the equipment at their site(s); Continually reassess risks associated with regional operation and maintenance processes taking appropriate corrective action as required; Providing field support for clients by performing training, reviews and maintenance support on site. What you will bring Trade certification in Automotive/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic/Diesel Fitter or equivalent; Auto electrical and CAN-BUS systems knowledge is advantageous; Hydraulic systems knowledge is advantageous; Previous experience working on heavy vehicles such as mining equipment (advantageous); Ability to obtain a Controlled Substance License (CSL); Strong written and verbal communication, customer relation and problem-solving skills; Driver's license required, Heavy rigid (HR) vehicle license (advantageous); Self-Motivated worker who can manage their own hours and workload with a strong attitude to safety and quality of service; Industry experience with Mining and Blasting is advantageous.
