About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Field and Laboratory Technician to join our Northland team. Experience is an advantage; however, full training will be provided to the right candidate.
As a technician, you'll be hands-on in the field, including assisting with and training on Field work, such as Cone Penetration Testing (CPT). This role is ideal for someone who is methodical, mechanically minded, and detail-oriented, with a knack for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
In addition to field work, you'll gain exposure to other geotechnical testing and laboratory tasks, ensuring a varied and engaging work experience.
What You'll Do

Assist with field testing and operation of CPT equipment.
Learn field and laboratory operations, including equipment setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
Perform a variety of geotechnical field tests to support engineering projects.
Conduct laboratory testing of materials and soils for construction projects.
Ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and compliance with quality standards.
Adhere to Health & Safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

What You Bring

Mechanically minded with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Methodical and detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy.
Physically fit and comfortable with safe lifting and moving of equipment.
Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies, IT systems, and testing methods.
A Class 2 licence (preferred but not essential).
An interest or background in Science, Geology, or Civil Engineering is advantageous.
Strong initiative, adaptability, and a proactive work ethic.
