With our home base located in Methven, in the heart of the Canterbury Plains, our production areas are throughout Canterbury and the Hawkes Bay, both taking advantage of New Zealand's world-renowned climate and growing conditions for quality vegetable seed production.SPSNZ's exclusive services include: field work, seed cleaning, quality control, shipping, research & development.THE OPPORTUNITYDue to growth and development within our team, we are recruiting for another Field Agronomist. Reporting to our General Manager of Field Production, the role is to oversee and be responsible for crop management within the central Canterbury district, to maintain and develop successful relationships between SPSNZ growers and customers whilst ensuring vegetable seed production is achieved to the highest quality and yield.A BIT ABOUT YOUIdeally you would be an experienced Agronomist, with a minimum 2-3 year's experience, having a strong understanding of plant health, seed production & harvesting, plus handling techniques. This coupled with a strong emphasis on technical service and the willingness to take part in practical field work, makes you an awesome team player with a high standard of professionalism and self motivation. Whilst an experienced Agronomist is an advantage, this is not a pre-requisite to be considered, as we would welcome applications from graduates or applicants displaying a dedicated attitude to the seed industry with a desire to learn.We would require you to hold a current full class 1 drivers licence, and ideally you would have experience having operated field machinery, but training will be provided.
