The Opportunity
Reporting to the Principal, the newly created full time, permanent position of Development, Marketing & Communications Director has two focus areas:
Establish, grow and steward a network of engaged individuals and community partners who champion and feel connected to the School.Key responsibilities include:
Develop and implement a fundraising programme delivering donor engagement and funds to the School's capital campaigns.
Oversee the establishment and growth of the Ficino School Alumni database of past parents and students.
Develop the culture of giving at Ficino.
2. Develop and lead the marketing and communications for Ficino School and Ficino Montessori Preschool to extend the School's reach and engagement with individuals who seek a philosophically inspired education for their children. Key responsibilities include:
Develop and lead the School's marketing strategy.
Develop and manage the School's digital and social media strategy.
Manage all external and internal communication.
Budget management and Board reporting.
Provide leadership and guidance to one direct report, the Marketing Coordinator.
What You'll Bring
To secure this role, you'll need:
A proven history in fundraising including developing and implementing fundraising strategies and programmes in the education / academic or the not-for-profit sector.
Previous experience with the establishment and growth of an alumni or similar member-based organisation.
Solid and proven senior Marketing / Communications experience, ideally in the education, academic or not for profit sector.
Previous experience managing & leading staff and teams of volunteers.
Exceptional relationship management and communication skills.
Capability across a range of technologies including social media platforms, CRM and donor management software.
Relevant tertiary qualifications.
Remuneration / Reward
In addition to an attractive salary, the successful candidate will receive five weeks' annual leave. Benefits include lunches each day and parking. Given the nature of the role, the successful candidate will sometimes need to be flexible with their working hours (e.g. attend / run events and meetings of an evening or outside of normal business hours), but Ficino School has a real "give and take" approach to this so no one would ever feel taken advantage of. Once the successful candidate is established in the role, there will be the opportunity to work from home one day per week.
