Biotechnology & Genetics (Science & Technology)Full timeBiotelliga is an Ag-biotech company utilising fungi, nature's plant-interaction specialists, to develop sustainable technologies to protect crops from pests and diseases.We are offering an exciting opportunity for a technologist with experience in solid state and liquid fermentation.In a friendly and supportive laboratory environment, you will lead a small team of technicians and manage the coordination of pilot scale fungal fermentation runs and related documentation. Alongside production, you will conduct experiments to improve fermentation processes, mostly focused on yield of fungal small molecules.To be a successful candidate you need to be a team player, perform experiments to a high standard and understand the importance of following documented processes in a regulated environment. You will be driven by timelines, pro-active and willing to learn new skills.Minimum Requirements:PhD in bioprocessing, microbiology or related fields OR degree with significant (>5 years) experience in fermentation and manufacturingAt least 3 years' experience working in a laboratory and/or manufacturing environmentExpertise in solid state and preferably also liquid fermentationStrong mycological skillsExcellent analytical skills, data analysis and report writing skillsGood understanding of statistical analyses relevant for biological experimentsExcellent written and spoken English communication skillsGood Word and Excel skillsFamiliar and engaged with health & safety and containment requirements in laboratoriesDesired Qualifications:Experience working in highly project-managed structure with multiple stakeholdersClear understanding of QA/QC principlesExperience working with transgenic fermentation systemsMust have a valid NZ work visa, Residence visa or NZ CitizenshipHow to Apply:If this sounds like you, apply online today by clicking the apply link on the right with a CV and a covering letter detailing why you feel you would be suitable for this position.Applications may close sooner if a suitable candidate is found.
