Exciting, varied opportunity where you'll do general maintenance and fencing, and manage your own day on a livestock farm.
The Opportunity
From driving a tractor to taking on responsibilities for new and repair fencing requirements, maintenance work and weed control. you'll help this farm keep thriving. Joining our close-knit team, you'll spend most of your time fencing, repairs and maintenance, in the tractor, general farm maintenance and working with stock in the yards from time to time.
There will be some stock work and mostly with deer, so experience working with deer is preferred, otherwise you need to be keen to work with them.
The Farm
Goudies Station is 1,779-hectare sheep, beef, and deer breeding and finishing property situated in Reporoa, just 50 minutes from Taupo.
Goudies Station supply's commercial livestock farms and the broader industry with nationally recognized Romney Rams known for their facial eczema (FE) resistance, robust constitution, and high fertility. The team collaborates closely with Focus Genetics to continually enhance their breeding programs.
About You
You can adapt and turn your hand to most things on farm, not afraid to get stuck in and get it done. You can work independently, managing your day and enjoy working outdoors.
You will also have:
· Proven experience in fencing, and general maintenance, including water systems - preferred
· Ability to operate a large tractor for feeding out - preferred
· Excellent communication skills
· Good time management
· First class attitude to Health and Safety
· Positive attitude and initiative
· Current NZ driver's licence
