As a member of ASB's Financial Crime Investigations Transaction Monitoring team, you will help protect ASB and its customers from the impact of Financial Crime.
You will contribute in a meaningful way to the protection of Aotearoa New Zealand from organised crime, modern slavery, extreme right-wing groups, and other activity which places New Zealand at risk.
We are looking for a manager to join our Transaction Monitoring FCI team, who will be primarily responsible for supporting the execution of the bank's strategy, policy, and risk appetite while also managing the end-to-end financial crime detection, monitoring, assessment, investigation, and remediation for ASB regulatory requirements.
You will also: Manage day-to-day workflows and use of resources to ensure referrals and cases are investigated and processed correctly and efficiently.
Monitor SLAs, SOPs, risk appetite thresholds, and QA results while maintaining best practice.
Develop, support, and lead a dynamic team, managing and dealing with risk referrals relating to high-risk customers with a varying level of complexity, working on cases and getting your hands dirty where required.
Utilise technical processes across all products and channels to mitigate associated risks.
Champion WorkSmart Productivity disciplines lead, develop, promote, and implement strategies in relation to the efficient and cost-effective management of Financial Crime obligations and protocols.
Drive the successful completion of strategic and tactical initiatives, enabling positive benefit realisation and risk buy-down outcomes.
Maintain team performance and a work environment where open communication and coaching opportunities enable people to develop and succeed.
Provide timely subject matter expertise advice and guidance to individual BUs within the ASB Group to protect the group from Financial Crime.
Ensure compliance obligations, risk mitigation, and control functions relevant for the business are adhered to.
Experience leading high-performing teams that engage with a diverse range of people including criminals, difficult and high-risk customers, and external enforcement agencies.
Ability to think creatively and strategically to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally.
Ability to overcome obstacles to cooperation and to foster harmonious relationships.
Experience with, and ability to train others in investigative processes.
Experience working with, and the practical application of, the AML / CFT Act 2009.
An in-depth knowledge of Financial Crime disciplines being: Anti-Money Laundering Countering Financing of Terrorism regulations and obligations.
Sanctions regulations and obligations.
Transaction Monitoring.
Managing high-risk customer activity.
