As a member of ASB's Financial Crime Compliance team, you will help protect ASB and its customers from the impact of Financial Crime. You will contribute in a meaningful way to the protection of Aotearoa New Zealand from organised crime, modern slavery, extreme right-wing groups, and other activity which places New Zealand at risk.
About the Role:We are looking for a Risk or Compliance professional to join our Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) team on a permanent basis. The FCC team at ASB lead in the protection of our customers and communities from financial crime and support the business in mitigating the risks of money laundering, terrorism financing, bribery & corruption, and tax evasion.
As a Senior Analyst, you will help support the team predominantly with identifying key FCC-related risks and providing guidance and insights to key stakeholders and supporting in FCC-related policy maintenance.
You will act as a subject matter expert for financial crime compliance. As a SME, you will need to stay at the forefront of key FCC-related regulatory and industry changes to ensure ASB is well positioned to adapt.
Success in this role will be the ability to understand and articulate financial crime-related risks, work collaboratively across the organisation, apply a pragmatic approach through a risk lens, and enable the business to understand, proactively manage, and optimise their FCC obligations.
Key Responsibilities:Strong experience in Compliance, Risk Management, or Audit capacity - preferably in the banking sectorIn-depth knowledge of financial crime risks (including Sanctions) and financial crime legislation and regulationsProven ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organisationExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex technical information to non-subject matter expertsExcellent written and oral communication skillsWorking for ASBIn return, you will work for an organisation that places huge importance and focus on its people, where the sky is the limit for development and career opportunities.
