About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen to assist Waikato in improving our achievement against the Faster Cancer Treatment (FCT) health targets. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse (RN) who has excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team. You will support the Regional Cancer Coordinator to identify and monitor patient pathways to ensure patients receive treatment in a timely manner, as well as assist the oncology clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) in preparing the multi-disciplinary meetings (MDMs).
The successful candidate will work closely with the oncology clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) across all tumour streams and the FCT trackers.
About the Service The FCT team is part of the Cancer and Chronic Conditions directorate. We work closely with other directorates to accurately report on the cancer targets.
About you The ideal candidate will have:
A current New Zealand Annual Practicing CertificateA minimum of 2 years NZ hospital experienceSome knowledge and/or experience in cancer (desired)Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
