The OpportunityWe're looking for either a current Farm Manager who is looking to broaden their experience or a confident and accomplished Head Shepherd/Stock Manager making their first step into farm management.
You will have the chance to learn and develop skills in business management, people leadership, and lead change in a company with a customer-focused strategy.
You will contribute to a business strategy focused on production and profit, with a focus on core farming principles, growing dry matter, and converting it into production through good pasture management and feed budgeting techniques to take this property to the next level.
This role also gives you the opportunity to get comfortable with Pamu systems and processes, as you will learn and run your own Farmax file and record data into FarmIQ.
The FarmTakakuri is a 1650 ha property with character. On the rolling country, we run a 400-ha bull unit with a mix of Angus and Friesian bulls. As part of the team of three, you and your dogs would be looking after weaner bulls through to two years old.
Located just 15 minutes from Kaeo, Takakuri is a well-run 1700 ha total and 400 ha effective bull beef farm system.
We've introduced forestry into less productive terrain on the farm and have installed riparian planting and fencing to protect waterways to improve environmental outcomes. As a progressive farming organisation, we are focused on being productive and profitable while decreasing our environmental footprint.
About YouYou will be a passionate, experienced Farm Manager or Stock Manager/Head Shepherd looking for your next challenge.
You will have:
A first-class attitude to Health and Safety, Animal Welfare, and Environmental Management.Excellent pasture management skills.Attention to detail around stock performance and feed budgeting.In-depth understanding and experience handling multiple stock units.Excellent communication skills.Technically savvy with a strong interest in recording technology.Effective time and people management skills.Excellent problem-solving ability and creativity.BenefitsPamu offers a competitive remuneration package including health and life insurance, extended parental leave benefits, and extensive and ongoing training and development.
