Job Description Due to unforseen circumstances a farm managers position has become available on a 350 cow farm in Kaiwaka. The succesful applicant with be working under a 50:50 sharemilker who also milks 50:50 on another farm in the surronding district. The farm has been farmed by the same family for many years and the pedigree Jerseys cows, have been purchased by the sharemilker. Facilities include a 36 a side Herringbone shed and a concrete stand off and feed pad. The manager will be responsible for all day to day running of the farm, including pasture management, feed allocation of maize and Palm Kernel, keeping records for calving and mating, rearing of replacement calves and general farm mainterance including fencing, and managment of staff. A calf rearing job could also be available on a casual basis to a partner if required. The sharemilker will be available to order feed, get supplies and antibiotics and help with administrative work and support the farm manager with the day to day management of the Farm. A farm advisor has been employed to help with expertise on the management of the farm and feed allocation which includes a monthly meeting. A great remuneration package is available to the succesful applicant. Accommodation Accomodation includes a nice 5 bedroom house, with a big fenced section and fruit trees. The farm is situated 1km from Kaiwaka, which provides the usual amenities. Four square, motorbike shops, mechanics, petol station, takeways, and a local pub with a family restarant. There is a primary school in Kaiwaka and a secondary school from Year 7 to 13, 15 minutes away in Maungaturoto. Bus is available at the gate.The Kaiwaka community also has a sports center where rugby and squash is available for all ages and there is also a weights gym which can be entered at any time of the day by key membership.Kaiwaka provides that nice little farming town feels, with freindly and positive people.
