Join Our Team at Swift Agri Swift Agri is a farming business with two main dry stock farms in Woodlands & Winton, Southland. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer welder/fabricator/fitter who can turn their hand to almost anything. With the support of a hands-on manager to work alongside, you will not be just a number in our business; we value our staff as they make our business what it is. The focus for this role is maintaining and servicing various farm machinery, strengthening and welding, as well as redesigning some parts of machinery to better suit its application. We prefer to repair over buy new, so there are plenty of challenges for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who thrives on challenge and takes pride in their work but also understands the time constraints of getting gear fixed. Our business is diverse, and we need someone in this role who can turn their hand to anything. This may mean, from time to time, you may be asked to operate machinery or help with stock work where required. This is a casual position; ideally, you can do 1-2 days per week, but obviously, we want to work around your other priorities in life where possible. From time to time, you will also be involved with farm infrastructure. We are looking to improve, so you may also find yourself building new equipment and custom solutions. You will be a natural problem-solver with a positive approach. You will handle the pressure that the job can bring with a bit of banter and a great work ethic. You will be comfortable operating on your own and be a self-starter. Ideal Candidate Will Have: A Trade qualification in engineering (or time served) - Mechanical / Maintenance / Fitter or similar. At least 7 years' experience in a similar type of industrial engineering role. A broad knowledge of engineering practices and principles. A commitment to preventative maintenance. Sound troubleshooting ability and fault-finding skills. Good attention to detail. Be practical but able to think outside of the box. The ability to create and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders. A positive attitude towards health and safety.
