Farm Assistant Or Herd Manager In Lumsden

We have a job for an arm worker with ideally 1+ years experience for a Farm Assistant (or if 2-3 years experience you may be considered for Herd Manager) position on a Lumsden area dairy farm, located about halfway between Invercargill and Queenstown. This 1400 cow farm milks through two Herringbone sheds. Ideally, you'll have good tractor skills and be able to perform field work with confidence.
Overall, you'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including:
Milking and monitoring milk quality,
Training junior staff (Herd Manager only),
Stock handling and feeding (feed management),
Fencing and weed control,
Calving and calf rearing,
Shed maintenance & preparation,
Tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage,
Monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health,
Other general farm duties.
Weekly hours are a minimum of 35 and an average of 45. Since farm work is dependent on various factors like weather and animal conditions, should you work beyond the maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate for any hours beyond the maximum hours.
Wage is up to $29.66+ per hour subject to experience.

Ideally, you'll have experience working with diverse teams, notably Filipinos and Latin Americans.
