BMC Lawyers is a community-focused and full-service law firm with offices in Kapiti, Porirua and Levin. They have ambitious future goals and are now seeking to increase their legal capabilities by increasing headcount in the short-term with longer term goals of opening an additional office in the region.

The Opportunity A fantastic opportunity has now come available for a Solicitor to join their Family team in the Porirua office. The role will allow you to work alongside a pre-eminent Principal, Nicola Tutt, who leads the Litigation team and comes from a highly decorated background including an extensive advocacy background in the District Court for both public sector and private practice organisations.
This role will largely consist of Family Legal Aid including Care of Children, Family Violence, and Child Support work. You will have the opportunity to work closely with groups such as the Women's Refuge, as well as affording you the chance to spend plenty of time in court.
About You This role will suit a solicitor who has obtained or is close to obtaining legal aid lead provider status for Family Law. You will have excellent support and the opportunity to build your litigation experience.
You will enjoy having autonomy and responsibility for your work, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to demonstrate the personality to work in a cohesive team and to build strong relationships with the community, your colleagues and clients.
