Halliwells Lawyers is a long standing, reputable law firm dedicated to providing a range of expert legal services in Taranaki and Auckland. We are looking for a candidate with a genuine desire to build expertise in family law, practicing from our Hawera office. As a Junior Family Law Solicitor, you will work closely with experienced solicitors to support a diverse caseload of family law. This role will largely consist of Family Legal Aid including care of children applications, and family violence with an opportunity to expand to other areas of Family Law. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior solicitor with direction and is eager to develop their skills in a supportive environment. You will join a team of hard-working staff, have excellent communication and computer skills, and play an integral part in the overall success and reputation of the firm. We are looking for someone who has a mature attitude, is responsible, collegial, and has a desire to deliver exceptional family law services. The successful candidate must have: A law degree (LLB) and completed Professional Legal Studies. Strong interest in New Zealand Family Law and a desire to develop expertise in the field. Preferably, you will have some experience working in Family Law including Court experience and experience working within the legal aid framework. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Assist in managing family law cases from initial instruction to resolution. Conduct legal research and prepare legal documentation. Provide legal advice and representation to clients. Attend client meetings and assist in case preparation. Work well with other team members to deliver services to clients.
