Are you a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Senior Nurse with significant clinical experience working in oncology, gastroenterology, or colorectal surgery?
12-month Secondment opportunity
40 hours, full time Monday to Friday
Based at Wellington Hospital (Newtown)
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The primary purpose of the role is to provide advanced specialist assessment, diagnosis, clinical management advice, and long-term surveillance recommendations and coordination of care to a specific patient and family population at, or potentially at, increased risk of cancer due to inherited gastrointestinal cancer syndromes. This is an advanced practice role and includes ongoing follow up and clinical oversight of high-risk individuals and families.
This secondment requires significant clinical experience working in oncology, gastroenterology or colorectal surgery. You will need to be comfortable working with scientific data. If you have led your own clinics, this will be an advantage, but full clinical training and support is provided.

The New Zealand Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Services (NZFGCS) is a national service and is part of the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) strategy, providing assessment, diagnosis, management advice and care for those individuals and families who have a familial predisposition to gastrointestinal cancers. The national office is based in Auckland hosted by Te Toka Tumai with other offices in Wellington and Christchurch.
