Kiwi Park is a family-owned 5 acre wildlife sanctuary in beautiful Queenstown. We have over 20 species of native NZ birds and reptiles as part of nationally managed programs. Conservation is our passion.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and functionality of all our park facilities, buildings, equipment, and grounds.
This role is integral to ensuring the park operates smoothly and maintains the highest standards of safety and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for maintaining our park's pristine condition.
Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for all park facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment.
Lead and supervise a small team of maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and safety compliance.
Coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, routine inspections, repairs, and renovations, to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
Oversee inventory management of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and adequate stock levels.
Conduct regular inspections of park facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards, addressing issues promptly in compliance with regulations and standards.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure maintenance activities are planned and executed with minimal disruption to park operations and guest experiences.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, equipment manuals, and warranties.
Qualifications and Skills: Background or experience in carpentry and/or general engineering.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures, committed to creating a safe work environment.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks effectively and making sound decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with staff, guests, contractors, and suppliers.
Valid driver's license and the ability to operate maintenance equipment and vehicles.
