Reporting to our Engineering Manager, we are recruiting for a Facilities and Utilities Engineer, with relevant industrial experience within the food, pharmaceutical or FMCG industries. This is a key role within our organisation to ensure the maintenance of our equipment, buildings, plants and services without compromising the health and safety of our staff, product safety or operational effectiveness.
Successful candidates will ideally have previous experience in a manufacturing environment and have the ability to not just 'do the job', but to use their analytical and problem-solving skills to provide top level service to the manufacturing plants. Working as part of a maintenance team, candidates will have good interpersonal skills and an attitude for getting stuck in to get the job done.
The hours for this position are 42 hours per week , from 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. There will be occasional rostered Saturdays, overtime and call outs.
Key responsibilities include:
Collaborate with production, engineering, and service providers to resolve facilities issues
Coordinate with maintenance planners and contractors for efficient operations
Ensure compliance with BWOF and trade waste regulations
Oversee calibrations, routine maintenance, and machine support for the engineering team
Assist the Engineering Manager with continuous improvement initiatives and effective communication with production and planning teams
Qualifications and attributes required:
5+ years in facilities maintenance, ideally in food manufacturing or related fields
Proficiency with boilers, chillers, HVAC, compressed air systems, BMS, and BWOF requirements
Experience in preventative maintenance and CMMS tools
Strong planning, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement
Adaptable and effective in high-pressure, 24/7 manufacturing environments
