We currently serve learners in Year 8, 9 and 10 and will add a new year level annually until we are a full Secondary school.About This RoleLiger Leadership Academy is seeking applications for a Maths / Science / and Exploration Facilitator for the 2024 school year. We are committed to low facilitator/learner ratios so as our roll grows, we are looking for a world-class educator. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching maths and science, as well as a passion and expertise for facilitating real-world explorations.Liger's Science and Maths Essential Courses:Design and deliver a future-focused curriculum that leverages modern approaches such as STEM and AI, and align with the existing & new NCEA Science Achievement Standards.Support and develop Liger's criterion-based assessment and reporting systems to align with the existing & new NCEA Science Achievement Standards.Liger's Explorations:Facilitate a group of 10 learners to achieve their Exploration goals for 9 hours per week (Total of 90 hours per Exploration over the term).Enthuse learners with a passion for tackling community challenges and being optimistic about developing solutions.Promote the development of leadership competencies through self-reflection, self, and peer assessment.Other Active Facilitation Duties:Advisor in Liger's pastoral care program by providing mentorship to a small group of learners.One Extension activity per week - an interests or opportunity-based part of our curriculum model.Requirements for Role:NZ Teacher registration, or ability to obtain.Detailed knowledge of NCEA and ability to facilitate learning in Level 2 and 3 Science.Always Required as a Liger Facilitator:Be a role model for Liger's core values every day.Foster a skills-based, inquiry-driven learning environment that emphasises innovation, leadership, and entrepreneurialism.Ensure that learning caters to the needs of all students and builds on what they already understand, know and can do.Guide our young people to be successful, independent learners.
