The Rural Youth and Adult Literacy Trust (RYALT) is seeking a dedicated volunteer literacy coach to provide valuable support to an adult student in need. As a Literacy Coach, you can give back and make a real difference in someone's life. It's a fulfilling and enjoyable role that allows you to share your love for learning while empowering others to reach their full potential.
What we're looking for:
We welcome individuals with or without teaching experience, as we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support.
We provide the training required to coach students and create a personalised learning plan. You will work together to develop goals and select materials and activities to help learners reach their goals.
Your enthusiasm, patience, and commitment are what matter most.
Time commitment:
1-2 hours per week meeting at the local Glenfield library.

Requirements:
Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (verbal and written).
Reliable with an analytical mind and a friendly personality.
A background in education would be helpful.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
