Fabrication Officer

For a leading New Zealand manufacturer of metal products, we are seeking a qualified fabricator to facilitate continuous production process improvements, while overseeing training and continuous improvement development for the business.
You will ideally have plenty of experience in people interaction with a hands-on leadership and production background, leading, training and driving manufacturing efficiencies.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Fabricator seeking to get off the tools and into a full-time production process improvement, training and development role.Responsibilities include:Being the main contact for customers (Internal and external).Overseeing the development and improvement of existing production processes.Optimising production with lean and best management practices.Organising training and development programs for production and fabricator staff.Designing, procuring, and testing new jigs and tooling.You will need to have:An understanding of AutoCAD and other CAD packages.Be available to travel.Strong technical product knowledge.Understanding of manufacturing processes including LEAN management.Be physically fit.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Salary and Benefits for this position are highly competitive.
