The role We are currently seeking applicants for a fixed term position as an Extreme Cold Weather Supply Assistant. Due to the nature of the role the successful applicant will need to be available to start work on 16 September 2024. The fixed term will end on 28 February 2025.
The position involves packing, issuing and sorting of clothing used for working in Antarctica, assisting with transportation of passengers and equipment from the airport terminal when required and other general warehouse duties.
Ideally, to be successful you will have: Sound communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent numerical skills Resiliency and flexibility Curiosity – a willingness to problem solve and look for opportunities Collaborative team approach and ability to foster and maintain relationships Be highly organised and have an eye for detail Driver's Licence class 1 (full and clean Car Licence) is essential Be a New Zealand Resident or hold a valid New Zealand Work permit Standard work hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30am-4pm however, to support flight operations some weeks may require you to be available for weekend and evening work as required.
The successful applicant will be required to participate in the following pre-employment checks: pre-employment medical including Drug and Alcohol test; successfully gain a favourable Elevated Background Investigation (EBI) result before commencing in this role (US Government Contractor requirement) and security and reference investigations for the issue of an Airport Identity Card.
