We are seeking candidates who either have: considerable experience in site-based management of large and complex field investigations, or experience in large-scale field investigation delivery. Successful candidates will demonstrate appropriate experience, personal resilience and problem-solving skills.The locations of the roles are flexible, but you'll base yourself in one of our offices, being Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Hastings, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch or Dunedin. An ability to travel and be site-based, sometimes in remote locations, is required and we seek candidates who are comfortable with a mixture of working away from home and working in your hometown. Site investigation leadersYou will ideally have 5 to 15 years' of relevant experience in formulating, costing, managing and delivering complex field investigations and in interpretating complex field investigation data.You will be responsible for delivering field investigation projects on time, on budget and to the required quality standards. When issues crop up, you will utilise your problem-solving skills to resolve the issues. You will be supported from above by some of the best people in our industry. You will lead, day-to-day, a range of site investigation delivery personnel who's skillset is aligned to the role description below (site investigation deliverers), hence you will need to have knowledge of the key components listed and the ability and desire to train and mentor the next generation of geological and geotechnical superstars.Your interpersonal skills will be first rate, as you'll need to play an important role in customer communications and stakeholder management during the field investigations. You will also be a great writer, with the ability to author clear and concise project updates and produce compelling geotechnical reports.Site investigation deliverersFor these roles, you will ideally have 1 to 5 years' practical experience as a geologist, engineering geologist or geotechnical engineer with demonstrated experience in New Zealand that includes some, or all of the following: Logging of complex rock and soil deposits Geological and engineering geological field mapping Point load testing Detailed defect logging Digital data collection and management Supervision of piezometer installation Supervision of downhole and surface geophysics Supervision of packer testing Supervision of pressuremeter testing Interpretation of photogrammetric survey data Interpretation of test results A working knowledge of GIS Paleoseismic study experience will be looked on favourably Knowledge of hydrogeology would be a bonus Resilience and problem solving Working in remote sites in all manner of weather conditions Preparation of relevant sections of Geotechnical Factual Reports and Geotechnical Interpretative Reports.
