The opportunity:
The University of Waikato College - Te Kura Huanui is seeking enthusiastic and skilled casual English Language Teachers to deliver engaging lessons and support learners in their academic and personal development. This role offers flexibility and the chance to contribute to a vibrant, supportive teaching environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dynamic and effective English language teaching in General English and Academic English programmes.
Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment for learners.
Deliver pre-prepared lessons and contribute to enhancing course materials when required.
Participate in staff training and professional development activities to maintain teaching quality.
Undertake administrative tasks associated with ensuring high quality delivery and a positive student experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
A recognized language teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA, DELTA, CertTESOL or equivalent)
Experience, skills and knowledge:
At least 2 years of English language teaching experience, preferable in diverse or international settings
Knowledge of current EAL teaching principles and practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Flexibility and adaptability to work across a range of teaching levels
A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field
Ability to incorporate multimedia tools and digital resources into lessons
Knowledge and awareness of New Zealand culture and social issues
