Nursing - General Medical & Surgical (Healthcare & Medical)
Full time
We're looking for another nurse to join our growing team! If you have a passion for making the end-of-life journey easier and more comfortable for patients, we want to hear from you.
Ideally, if you're an experienced palliative nurse, please reach out. However, if you have at least 5 years of nursing experience and a keen interest in learning more about palliative care, we'd love to hear from you!
You'll be working closely with clinical staff in our team and out in the community, as well as with patients and their families. Great patient assessment skills, advanced communication skills, and time management are essential.
You will need:
Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
Current New Zealand Driver's license.
Be a citizen of New Zealand or have permanent residency.
The role will require you to be confident to work independently in the community to:
Provide culturally appropriate holistic community care to patients and whanau affected by life-limiting illnesses.
Skillfully assess patient and whanau needs.
Provide pain and symptom management in collaboration with the GP and other healthcare providers.
Liaise with, educate and support other healthcare providers such as in ARC facilities.
There are no night shifts or shift work; however, you will be part of an overnight and weekend on-call roster (approx. 4 weekly). We encourage further education and will provide support.
Our work environment is supportive, and we value family connections. If you have a family (including pets), you're encouraged to share stories with us.
Why live in the Eastern Bay of Plenty?
