We have a position available for an experienced heavy haulage operator to join the team at Rowe Motors based out of Tauranga. Paying between $40.00 and $47.50 gross per hour and a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours a week and maximum of 70 hours per week, we are looking for a safety conscious individual with a professional approach to transporting overweight and over dimensional loads and the recovery of heavy motor vehicles.The applicant must have the ability to work flexible hours as this role at times involves the odd early start and late finish, take it in turn with our other heavy haulage drivers to do machinery and heavy recovery moves on a weekend (generally a Saturday morning) and the odd overnight stay away.Key duties of the role include:Working with the Dispatch manager to manage heavy haulage and recovery jobsDriving duties, transport loads to locations as directed, obeying all traffic and permit conditionsCarry out daily pre-operation checks on transporters and trailersMove and assist in moving trucks and trailers around the yardIdentify any maintenance issues and report to managementThis position requires the successful applicant to have the following:Experience in transporting oversized machineryExperience in operating a 3R4 and 3R8 widening trailersExperience with a load divider/dolly would be advantageousFull class 5 driver's licenceBESS accreditationMust be familiar with overweight permits and their requirementsExperience in the operation of Heavy Recovery vehiclesA good level of understanding of Heavy vehicle brake and air systemsAbility to deal with dispatch and customers in a professional mannerFill out Pre-Operation Check sheets and have a good working relationship with maintenance staff to keep truck and trailers mechanically sound and reliableKeeps a tidy truck and looks after the gear which includes polishingAdhere to work time logbook rulesGood level of physical fitness(W T R F V) licence endorsementsPilot's licence Class 2 would be favourableIf you have a passion for the industry with a strong work ethic, this position could be for you.
