Experienced Aged Care Chef - Selwyn Village, AucklandCater Plus is proud to be the new Food Service provider Selwyn Village, located in Point Chevalier Auckland and owned by The Selwyn Foundation.
The Selwyn Village philosophy is of providing 'a continuum of care'. Alongside the independent retirement living option, Selwyn Village has its own rest home, dementia and hospital care.
The role
Are you an experienced chef and passionate foodie looking for your next challenge in a role that offers competitive remuneration, and an opportunity to really make your mark?

In this role you will be a hands-on chef actively involved in the creating, cooking, and presentation of all food. There is huge potential for you to work closely with our new Catering Services Manager, wow our client, make our customers smile, and take the food service to the next level of success.

This position is full-time, rostered role, 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
This position requires a chef with relevant industry experience, who can:
Prepare and cook meals in the central production kitchen, for service in the café and delivered meals to 3 separate locations on site, catering to a total of 230 resident and 327 independent living residents.Be actively involved in menu creation, meal production, and presentation of food and delivery of functions and events, whilst catering to the special dietary needs of your clientele.Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation.Create menus to cater for a varied clientele and dietary requirements.Manage food and labour costs within budget.Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff.Implement New Zealand Food Control and Safety regulations.Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard-free environment.The ideal candidate will:
• Have excellent communication skills and a flexible, can-do, committed attitude.
• Be friendly and engaging, with the ability to lead a productive and positive team.
• Have good time management skills, and moderate computer literacy.
