We are an experienced, energetic team which fosters a supportive environment with a focus on the overall wellbeing of rangatahi and their whanau.We are looking for an exceptional and experienced Social Worker/Youth Worker to join our passionate team. We are offering a unique opportunity to work within the Youth Services & Transition teams, supported by a diverse team of psychologists, counsellors, social workers, mentors, youth coaches, doctors, and nurses.This role is all about engaging and supporting rangatahi aged 15-20 years to achieve improved wellbeing through sustained education, training, work-based learning, or employment outcomes, all while working towards the goal of them achieving long-term independence.Qualifications and Attributes Required for This Role:Relevant tertiary qualification – this may be from a range of disciplines including: youth work, social work, community development, education, & counselling.Understanding of youth culture and youth development.Recent/previous work experience with rangatahi.Practical understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles.Commitment to continuing professional/personal development with the ability to be self-reflective.Sense of humour.Current full driver licence.Commitment to being an active participant of a holistic interdisciplinary team.Ability to work independently and work unsupervised.Be organised and have good time management skills.Effective administrative skills, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Motivation, empathy, energy, and initiative.Effective communication skills.Networking skills.Commitment to delivery of a quality service.This is an exciting and challenging role that offers you the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of rangatahi in Kapiti. You will be working in a fun, dynamic, supportive team environment alongside passionate professionals committed to supporting rangatahi to be everything they possibly can be.This is a full-time role working 40 hrs per week from 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday. The expected salary range is $60,667 - $91,000, dependent on qualifications and experience. KYS actively supports professional development, internal and external supervision, and offers 5 weeks annual leave.
