Executive Sous Chef - SkyCity (Full Time)A bit about the RoleWith the upcoming opening of NZICC we are looking for an experienced and energetic foodie who will lead our production kitchen team and collaborate closely with the executive chefs of SkyCity and NZICC. Our Production Kitchens are undergoing a renovation with millions of dollars being invested into new machinery and chillers to meet the demand of producing food to the whole SkyCity Precinct. The ideal Chef will be excited by the challenge of organising the new kitchen and help developing world class dishes to feature in SkyCity and NZICC. The Production Kitchen is the culinary HEART of the precinct providing high quality products to our venues across three blocks in the Auckland CBD that includes 25 kitchens, three hotels and the New Zealand International Convention Centre opening next year! We also operate our Events and Catering from here to produce various menus and catering options for events hosted around SkyCity. With NZICC opening in 2025 there will also be room to expand this role to support their various events hosting millions of customers per year.A bit about youYou would identify yourself as a leader and able to adapt and pivot to any situation in the busy kitchen. You will have a proven track record of exemplary Food Safety and Compliance as you are regimental with your procedures to deliver quality food in masse. Food has to be your passion and drive for this role as you deliver great results on a daily basis. You'll ideally have at least 2 years' experience in production kitchens or conventions and events for high numbers and to a strict timeline. A strong drive to initiate change from existing food practises to a sustainable future menu. Your ability to keep up with industry trends, responding to promotional initiatives and assisting with the management of the day-to-day operations will ensure you drive a high-performance team culture.
