Executive Assistant to DDG Maori Partnerships and Investment | Wellington CityJob Title: Executive Assistant to DDG Maori Partnerships & InvestmentRole type: Permanent, full-timeLocation: Wellington City Salary range: GSREA Range G: $73,118 – $97,469 per annum depending on skills and experiencePriority will be given to MPI staff members with affected statusMa tau rourou, ma taku rourou, ka ora te iwi (with your contribution and my contribution the people will prosper)We are seeking an Executive Assistant to join our Maori Partnerships & Investment branch to provide dedicated support to the Deputy Director General (DDG).This is a key role where you will work as part of a small but supportive team, and be an important connection between the DDG and wider business units. Your strong eye for detail, and ability to prioritise work will allow you to coordinate a busy diary and keep track of work across the business unit.Ideally you will have knowledge of the public sector or previous experience working with a senior leader, but most importantly you are a self-starter who enjoys getting things done.As part of this role, you will be:Providing direct support to the Deputy Director-General and their leadership team including diary management with a focus on forward planning.Carrying out all administrative functions on behalf of the Deputy Director-General, including managing correspondence in a timely manner, handling of phone calls/emails, financials, staff related approval processes and report back management.Liaising with the offices of stakeholders, senior government officials and diplomatic staff to support professional organisational relationships.Liaising with Ministers' offices on the Deputy Director-General's behalf, establishing and maintaining relationships with Ministers' staff.Continually improving systems to further support the Deputy Director-General.This is a busy and varied role where no two days are the same. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, a solution-focused approach, and a proven ability to establish effective partnerships through tikanga Maori and te reo Maori principles.You will likely be working, or have worked in an Executive Assistant or Senior Administration role and value the importance of supporting the Maori Partnerships & Investment business unit who are looking to expand, reach and explore new avenues for Maori primary sector growth.In this role, you will have the opportunity to showcase your communication, collaboration, and organisational skills to provide a high level of support to our business. This position would suit someone looking to further their career, as the team support learning opportunities across the branch and wider business.To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:Intermediate experience in using MS Office products, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPointExperience in providing administrative support to senior managers and teams.Experience of implementing electronic and physical records management.Prioritisation, planning and work management skills in a fast-paced environment – all based on understanding the key priorities of the business.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration.Demonstrated cultural competence, with ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply.
