We've got big goals and we're ready to achieve them.This is where you come in!The Team Lead is an entry-level people management role responsible for leading a single agile team within the engineering department in collaboration with Design and Product Manager.
This role involves facilitation of day-to-day technical decisions, having accountability for the team following agreed agile practices, and ensuring the team's successful delivery of software products.
You'll work closely with our Engineering Manager to align team efforts with overall team goals.
It is also a hybrid role with some time spent in an Individual Contributor capacity as a software engineer, so it is expected the role holds technical responsibilities.Responsibilities:?Team Management: Facilitate regular 1:1s with technical team members of the agile team Provide mentorship, growth and advice to team members Ensure the Engineering Manager is aware of any performance issues or roadblocks Ensure regular communication of team status, goals and outcomes Facilitate regular performance reviews and professional development of the team?with strong support from your Engineering Manager Delivery: Collaborate with the Product Manager to understand and refine the product backlog, ensuring a focus on helping the team to break down work into manageable chunks that deliver value in an iterative way.
Ensure teams work aligns with Product, Technical and Security goals as agreed to via OKRs and KPIs Ensure the team tracks progress and risks, adjusting scope or implementation as necessary to meet product delivery goals and deadlines Ensure team ceremonies and processes to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices and standards.
Ensure work of yourself and the team adheres to our engineering principles Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering Manager to align technical team growth with group objectives.
Work closely with team Product Manager and product Designer to ensure a collaborative approach to roadmap and scope Ensure the team coordinates with other technical teams to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.
Coach the team on communicating technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging introspection, innovation and efficiency.
Encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members.
Ensure the teams KPIs and SLAs are tracked and monitored by the team Software Assist in the resolution of technical challenges and roadblocks.
Contribute to the technical delivery of the team via code reviews, peer programming, testing and/or releasing.
Skills and experience needed to be successful:4+ years of software engineering (in any discipline not limited to but for example Mobile, .NET, Front End or Quality) working within an agile software team Understanding of good agile software delivery practices and principles Interest in people management and helping individuals achieve their best Strong empathy for both engineering and business challenges Proven capability to coach or mentor?(formally or informally) Growth mindset and thirst to improve yourself Ability to empathetically manage engineers of senior level or below Demonstrable strong collaboration skills across product and engineering Demonstrable strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and an ability to both translate technical concepts to less technical audiences where required as well as manage expectations of different stakeholders Advocate for and default to collaborative programming techniques Why join us?
