Event Management (Marketing & Communications)Full timeTe Kaunihera Hanganga Tautaiao | The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) is a not-for-profit, for-purpose industry organisation dedicated to accelerating the development of sustainable building practices across Aotearoa New Zealand.The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) is seeking an experienced Events Manager to design and deliver our comprehensive events strategy, oversee delivery of our events and sponsorship programmes, and expand our growing community network of professionals. This role supports our mission to advocate for regulatory and industry-wide change and guide New Zealand towards a low carbon future. Our vision is for all homes and buildings in Aotearoa to be green and sustainable, creating healthier and happier environments for all New Zealanders.Key Responsibilities:Strategy and Sponsorship:Design and develop an annual events and sponsorship programme that aligns with NZGBC's business strategy and meets member needs.Work closely with our internal technical team to design specific events that drive for market advancement of sustainability in the built environment.Proactively research and source speakers, formats, and ideas to enhance our events.Manage events budgets and sponsorship framework.Develop and enhance relationships with industry partners to deliver high-quality events and value for members.Events Delivery and Coordination:Plan and deliver all NZGBC events, ensuring smooth and efficient execution.Handle suppliers, negotiate costs, manage venues, registration, ticketing, and pre/post-event communications.Manage regular reporting of events tracking against targets.Marketing and Communications:Promote and attract event attendees through effective relationships with associate members, internal resources, stakeholders, and suppliers.Stay informed about competitive and conflicting events and respond agilely to issues affecting event success.Participate in the development and management of the marketing communications calendar to support promotion across multiple channels.Process and System Improvement:Seek out and implement improvements to systems and processes.Conduct post-event reporting to share lessons learned.Prepare periodic reports for sponsors to demonstrate return on investment.Update website content as required by the Director of Marketing & Communications.Qualifications and Skills:Minimum 3 years' experience in events which may include experience with an event management agency.Passion for a sustainable future for Aotearoa New Zealand including understanding of sustainability in event design and delivery.Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and efficient work practices.Ability to self-manage and deliver projects to deadlines while working collaboratively in a close-knit team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Dynamic, detailed, and adaptable to change.Experience within the building industry preferred but not required.Values alignment with NZGBC's mission.Ability to build strong and effective partnerships.Experience with managing suppliers and ensuring successful event execution.Why Join Us?Be part of a passionate and small team dedicated to sustainability.Opportunity to make a significant impact on the property and construction sector in Aotearoa New Zealand.Collaborative and supportive work environment.If you are an experienced Events Manager with a passion for sustainability and a track record of delivering successful events, we would love to hear from you!How to Apply: Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining your experience and why you are the ideal candidate for this role to ****** Deadline: 20th January 2025Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as an events manager?Do you have experience working in the not-for-profit sector?What's your expected annual base salary?How many years' experience do you have as an Event Management Executive?
