Event Management (Marketing & Communications) Full time Auckland's newest 126-bedroom Hotel, inspired by art deco fused with contemporary comfort for the ultimate urban escape, SOHO is situated alongside Mount Roskill and is just 15 minutes from the CBD.
SOHO includes extensive dining and spacious conferencing and events facilities which can host up to 300 delegates, as well as a premium day spa and rooftop bar.
We have an opportunity for an Events Co-Ordinator to join the team and be a key player of Mount Roskill's brand-new Hotel.
The role will be focused on driving conference and events business, working closely with the head of departments and events team to plan, prepare and deliver a high standard of conference offering and service.
You will have a true passion for delighting guests and building a unique guest experience.
This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities and the exciting challenge of operating large conference and event facilities.
The successful applicant will be a passionate leader with strong interpersonal skills and must work well in a team environment and under pressure.
This includes having excellent organizational and time management skills, being flexible and responsive.
Responsibilities: Managing a conference service team to ensure excellent communication, good team spirit and a high level of customer service while coordinating the daily conference operation.
Communicate with clients and guests to establish their needs and requirements, creating a successful event.
Strong admin skills to be reactive with sales activities and correspondence, filing, preparation of contracts and documentation, and post-event follow up.
Negotiate contracts and secure services as required with stakeholders and vendors.
Regularly track leads and opportunities.
Monitor trends and competitors.
Understand the budget and sales targets and drive activity to achieve goals.
Manage, monitor, and analyze feedback accordingly.
Be flexible with work hours to fit around daily operations and event demands.
Understand current Health & Safety obligations, ensuring the Lodge is fully compliant with SOPs, policies, procedures, and service standards.
Attend trade shows and networking events, representing the property.
Strong events and food & beverage experience is essential.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a conference and events management position.
Knowledge of sales event systems and use of POSbiz.
