Event Sales Manager and Events Co-OrdinatorThe Akarana Marine Sports Charitable Trust owns and operates the Hyundai Marine Sports Centre – an international quality, marine-based multi-sport facility on the water's edge of the Waitemata Harbour in Okahu Bay, Auckland.The centre is home to the Royal Akarana Yacht Club, in-house restaurant Akarana Eatery and an Event Centre consisting of multiple meeting and function spaces capable of hosting more than 500 guests as well as over 800m2 of boardrooms, training and educational areas.We host everything from large corporate conferences, awards evenings, short lunch meetings, team building afternoons on the water, to formal weddings, funerals, private celebrations and more.About the opportunity:As our Events business continues to expand at a rapid pace, we're looking to grow our team with passionate and driven individuals. If you have a proven track record in event management and sales and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you.We have two key roles to fill:Event Sales Manager, a full-time role working 40 hours a week cultivating the venue's sales pipeline and building relationships to secure new and repeat business.Event Co-Ordinator, a part-time role working 32 hours a week to support the delivery of Sales and Event management.These roles require individuals with outstanding customer service skills, a keen eye for detail, and end-to-end event management experience. Given the nature of events, you will be required to work some evenings and weekends.If you're passionate about creating unforgettable events and driving sales, we'd love for you to bring your expertise to our team!What you'll be doing:Handling venue-related customer enquiries, bookings, quoting, pricing, operational setting up production schedules and providing detailed information in a timely manner.Cultivating sales to a diverse group of clients, building relationships and networks to secure new and repeat business.In conjunction with the Food & Beverage Manager, develop strong, working relationships with all suppliers (e.g. catering, audiovisual, staging, theming etc.).Control the use of rooms and event spaces within a multi-room venue, bookings and management of master facilities calendar (Ivvy).Assist with event delivery as and when required.Work with the Accounts team to ensure all events are billed accurately and on time.What you will bring:Past experience within the events industry with sales experience advantageous for the Event Co-Ordinator role and a must-have for the Event Sales Manager role.A high level of verbal and written communication skills.Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Ivvy, ResDiary and Xero a plus.Experience in managing a team of suppliers and casual staff.Experience in budgeting.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.What's in it for you:Supportive, dynamic team environment.A chance to grow your career in event management and sales.Free onsite parking and coffee.An office with some of the best views in Auckland.If either of these roles sound like it might be the one for you then please click "apply".
