We're looking for an Event Manager to be on the Pride Festival team organising the Whangarei Pride Festival in March 2025. You will be excellent with project management, promotion and volunteer management. Able to work cohesively with the queer community and keen to support our community to make the Whangarei Pride Festival a major success. Role Responsibilities The Pride Festival Event Manager will be the main contact point and coordinator of the month-long Pride Festival, supporting an active community of volunteers to realise their visions. The role includes the following tasks: Act as the main point of contact for the Pride Festival, communicating with stakeholders, rainbow community members and the general public. Create content and promote the Whangarei Pride Festival events on social media and other advertising platforms. Support the Whangarei PROUD board and community members with their events, including planning and delivery. Promote a vibrant and positive image of the Whangarei Pride Festival and Whangarei PROUD as an organisation. Recruit and coordinate volunteers to support events running smoothly. Ensure health and safety for everyone is covered at Whangarei Pride Festival events. Collect event data and create funding reports. Contractual Information The Pride Festival Events Administrator will be paid as a contractor and is responsible for paying their own tax and other expenses. The contract is for $4,000, equivalent to 125 hours at $30 per hour. Hours will vary based on the needs of the events and will be busiest across the Pride Festival in March. There is a $250 office expense allowance for internet, phone, etc. The contract is with Whangarei PROUD Trust. The Event Manager is able to work from home or Pride HQ in central Whangarei or other event locations as arranged.
