ESTIMATING Mgr – Custom Kitchen Cabinetry, Analysing, Ordering Materials, Pricing & Costing, Microvellum savvy, North Shore, Auckland. $50/hr or $105k pa neg
Overview of Job:
An established, medium sized, well regarded cabinetmaking company on the North Shore has an opening for an experienced Estimator within the industry with proven skills and abilities.
The position can be full time or flexi days, and we are open to this option.
This Estimator role will cover receiving sales orders, analysing/ordering all materials, negotiating pricing/costing, and requires a working knowledge of the cabinetmaking industry and relevant software, including Microvellum used in designing, machining, and manufacturing.
A background in the Cabinetmaking industry or similar is necessary.
The Estimating role is responsible for the overall costing of all custom and tender work from the sales team and job checking each order to proof check and order all materials prior to being sent to programming and into production. You will need to work in a timely manner to manage the delivery of raw materials to match the required due date of the order and manufacturing lead times.
Main purpose of this role: Oversee Supply Chain and Production Planning. You will purchase all the raw materials and parts for new and existing products and orders, manage inventory levels, resolve supply chain issues, and meet or exceed customer order fill rates. You will interact with local and overseas suppliers.
Your Responsibilities:

Provide complete and accurate proposals for tenders ensuring quick response times.
Liaise directly with the sales team and customers as required to ensure all details are complete, accurately obtained, and clearly understood.
Provide sufficiently detailed CAD drawings as required for both tenders and sales team.
Coordinate with the sales team as required for tenders to discuss the scope of supply.
Prepare formal costing documents ensuring the scope of material supply is well defined, prices are accurate, and good communication is maintained with the sales team to ensure full and clear understanding of lead times.
Daily sales order analysis to cover and proof all items in each sales order entered and ensure material is either ordered to meet delivery/manufacturing dates or material is in stock.

To be considered for this role you will have:

Strong background in Estimating within the Cabinetmaking industry.
Planning and Procurement modules experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to interact at all levels within an organisation.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with inventory management and reporting variances.
Ability to present monthly reports.
Continuous improvement vision.
Ensure compliance in all aspects.
Exposure and background in cabinetmaking (joinery) and CNC machining is essential.
CAD and programming background – Preferably Microvellum.

Job Details:
Wage: $50/hr – $105k pa neg with skills & qualifications
