ConsultANZ is looking for an intermediate to senior level Estimator to join a well-established contractor in the Sth Island!
Attractive salary package of $130k - $150k + car + medical insurance, negotiable based on skills and experience.

Main Duties Your responsibilities are such as, but not limited to:
Cost Estimation: Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine the estimated costs involved in terms of materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze relevant data such as historical project costs, market trends, and industry standards to support accurate estimations.
Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bids for projects, taking into account all cost factors and ensuring alignment with project specifications.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify project details for accurate estimations.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize financial impacts.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of estimates, including assumptions, methodologies, and supporting data.
Cost Tracking: Monitor and track actual project costs against estimated costs, providing regular updates to project teams and management.
Vendor and Supplier Negotiation: Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive prices for materials and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, cost factors, and new technologies to continually improve the accuracy and efficiency of the estimation process.
Requirements The successful candidate will bring into the role:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven 8-10+ years' experience as an Estimator in a well-established company.
Proficiency in Estimating software and tools – B2W (bid to win) software ideally but not required.
Ideally priced roads and earthworks as a lot of their projects have involvement in earthworks, from $200k through to $60m worth.
Good understanding of earthmoving equipment capability for diggers, scrappers, haulage.
Experience in administering contracts and managing variations.
Strong analytical and numerical skills for financial analysis and reporting.
Ability to communicate complex technical information to various stakeholders.
Effective negotiation skills for dealing with contractors and suppliers.
Understanding of construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
