Now, we're seeking a dynamic and driven individual to take on the role of Decorative Arts Auction Specialist, supporting our Estate and other auctions and helping shape the future of the Decorative Arts market in New Zealand.The Role: As the Decorative Arts Auction Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing our Estate auctions to life. Working closely with the Head of Decorative Arts, you'll work behind the scenes to plan, research, and catalogue items for sale each fortnight. Your organisational skills and passion for the arts will help ensure the smooth running of every auction, from the arrival of items to final sales, and everything in between.Key Responsibilities:Work alongside the Head of Decorative Arts to lead the auction process from start to finish, liaising with vendors and clients to manage stock for sale and unsold items.Manage cataloguing of items and coordinate with the Photography and Marketing teams to create stunning, on-time auction listings that bring the pieces to life.Oversee auction logistics, from item installation to ensuring seamless live bidding on auction day.Foster strong relationships with clients, specialists, and vendors, serving as a trusted point of contact.Provide vital financial insights to senior management, ensuring consignment levels and auction costs are monitored effectively.Collaborate with the Marketing team on dynamic advertising campaigns to attract buyers, ensuring our auctions are seen by the right audience.Take charge of auction set-ups, and manage condition reports, buyer requests, and live auction performances.About You: We're looking for someone who brings energy, enthusiasm, and expertise to the table. If you have a passion for the arts, thrive on attention to detail, and love seeing the results of a well-executed auction, we want to hear from you!What We're Looking For:A background in Art History, Design, or a related field.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.A love for organisation, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.IT savvy—experience with Word, Excel, and Photoshop is a plus!A hands-on attitude—you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.Photography experience and knowledge of mid-century design, Maori and Oceanic artefacts, or decorative arts is a bonus.The ability to think on your feet and work collaboratively in a creative and fast-moving environment.A full driving licence is essential.Why Join Webb's?
