Animal Referral Centre (ARC) is a private independently owned and operated animal referral practice established in 2016. We have two modern and amazing Auckland sites – Freemans Bay, Auckland city and Albany, North Shore.
We operate a 24 hour / 7-day week operation for emergency medicine. We also have specialists in small animal surgery, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, oncology, and critical care. Hydrotherapy and dermatology are available at ARC North.
We have all the equipment you would expect in a modern referral veterinary hospital including full in-house laboratory suite with Radiometer, multiparameter patient monitors, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, underwater treadmill, mechanical ventilation, on-site CT and MRI, along with dedicated cat and dog receptions, consulting rooms and wards.

Full Time – Albany, North Shore, Auckland, New ZealandFull Time - Freemans, Bay, Auckland, New ZealandFixed Term Seasonal Cover (November 2024 to February 2025) – Albany, North Shore, Auckland, New ZealandFixed Term Parental Leave Cover (November 2024 to June 2025) – Freemans Bay, Auckland City, Auckland, New ZealandOur successful candidates must have a positive attitude, be approachable and open with excellent communication skills as well as a passion for every aspect of emergency veterinary care. A NZ equivalent veterinary qualification and at least 2 years' experience as a veterinarian is required. Experience in emergency work is helpful but not required as our large team can provide support and a collaborative working environment.
As well as seeing emergency cases from all over New Zealand, the ER team also provides a vital role of looking after specialist inpatients including unusual and critical cases. The ER team is involved with stabilisation, diagnostics and treatment, including surgery.
