Environmental Reference Group (Advisory Group) Are you passionate about improving Wellingtonian's quality of life environmentally, socially, culturally, and economically by protecting and enhancing the local environment? The Environmental Reference Group is a group of up to 12 members which meets regularly to advise Te Kaunihera o Poneke | Wellington City Council and bring knowledge and insight around the environment, including water, energy, waste, biodiversity, urban design and transport management. The group provides the Council with relevant information, advice, and feedback on specific Council projects and policy development. We are seeking applicants who live in Wellington City, have expertise on, enthusiasm for, and awareness of the built or natural environment of Wellington City, and who can contribute their knowledge and insights. We are recruiting for 3 new members. We encourage all applicants to uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and contribute to achieving positive outcomes for Maori in our community. The commitment The role includes attending two-hour meetings on the second Monday of every month from 5.00 - 7.00pm at Council offices, 113 The Terrace, or online, via Teams. There are up to 12 meetings in a year, and members receive an allowance, currently $110, for attending each meeting. Please note you will need to be available to attend the induction evening on Tuesday 10 December.
