About the opportunity A strong focus for Fonterra is its commitment to be a leader in sustainability.
As part of that journey, we are looking to appoint a new Environmental Program Lead to deliver programs of national significance in alignment with approved strategies to ensure best environmental management for Fonterra's manufacturing operations.
In this role you will take ownership for consent handover and provide support to implement conditions for ongoing compliance.
Providing support alongside the National Environmental Resources Manager to iwi and community for projects is also a key component of the role.
Please note the ideal candidate will be based at our offices either in Auckland, Hamilton or Christchurch.
The key purpose of this role is to Ensure that programs of work are delivered in alignment to the Water & Environment strategy, and delivered within scope, time, and budget.
Set up New Zealand Manufacturing for success with new consents by assisting with the creation of monitoring schedules, identifying training needs, inputting parameters into environmental data management system, and gap analysis of what SOPs are needed.
Provide input to open reviews with the Water & Environment team to guarantee correct technologies and innovations are being selected to enable capital solutions to be future fit.
Actively participate, build and grow proactive relationships with iwi and community on programs of work.
About you To make this role a success you will have a background in the Environmental or Sustainability space with a good track record for having delivered complex programs or programs of national significance.
In addition, you will have: Post Graduate Tertiary Qualification in Science or Engineering.
Demonstrable experience in having led large programmes or projects, including managing change.
Prior experience in leading or coordinating community and iwi engagement would be useful.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an attention to detail in producing reports.
An understanding of the consenting process and related environmental legislation and regulations.
