Professional | Full-Time | Quality, Health, Safety and Environment

As an Environmental Professional, you will be part of the large construction team supporting the projects across Australia and New Zealand, and develop the environmental aspects of the full EPC scope of our wind farms.

Global Health, Safety & Environment HSE APAC Regional construction HSE APAC

Roster: 3 weeks on and 1 week off
FIFO/ DIDO role.

Location: WA Projects, Western Australia.

Initial Training: to be held at Wambo Wind Farm, QLD.

Responsibilities:
Providing compliance with the Construction Environment Management Plan (CEMP) and project approvals.
Providing effective environmental support to the Site Construction Manager, Project Manager, and Site Engineers.
Assist in the management of subcontractor environmental performance.
Implement programs in accordance with the CEMP including site environmental inspections.
Reviewing contractor compliance with the CEMP.
Reviewing Erosion and Sediment Control Plans and Works Permits, SWMS/JSEAs for compliance with the CEMP.
Delivering induction training and toolbox presentations.
Participating in internal and external audits.
Act as the point of contact with the client and regulators on behalf of Vestas about environmental matters.
Provide responses for Environmental reporting requirements.
Provide environmental updates at management meetings.
Assist coordination of HSE training for all site-based personnel.
Maintain a professional relationship with the client's and subcontractor's Environmental Advisors.
Assist in ensuring all work carried out complies with project Quality, Environment, and Work Health and safety requirements and is in accordance with Vestas policies and project objectives, targets, and legal requirements.
Support the Environmental Lead Professional with the implementation and rollout of National Environmental improvements and initiatives.
Support the provision of Environmental reports.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Environmental Science or Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (or equivalent).
White Card.

Competencies:
Civil construction experience in a site environmental role.
Experience managing and documenting compliance activities.
Experience in implementing controls and implementing documents that demonstrate compliance with Environmental Consents conditions.
Wind industry experience preferred but not mandatory.

Essential Skills:
Understanding and implementation of Environmental Management Systems.
Good Environmental technical skills, in particular, advising on Erosion and Sediment Controls, Water Quality, Flora and Fauna, Rehabilitation and measures to comply with project consent conditions.
Understanding software programs that support Environmental Management.
Enhanced interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills, within a professional service provider environment.
Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
A high commitment to Safety and Quality at all times.
Good time management and report writing skills.
Understanding and intermediate user of MS Office, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP.
Experience in using IMS and iAuditor preferred.
