Greymouth holds a significant development portfolio in the Taranaki Basin.ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNERWe are seeking an Environmental Planner to join our team in the Bell Block office. As a member of the Consenting and Environmental Compliance department, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Company is meeting its obligations under the Resource Management Act (RMA). Working with the Greymouth Petroleum team, this role will involve applying for resource consents, drafting environmental documentation, reviewing legislation changes, and developing and maintaining excellent working relations with Regional and District Councils.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the Company portfolio of resource consents.Maintain positive relations with regulatory authorities.Assess consenting requirements for projects and draft resource consent applications.Review legislation changes and draft submissions on behalf of the Company.Maintain awareness around changing environmental legislation including national environmental standards.Ensure environmental compliance with resource consent conditions and identify the best solution for environmental complications.Assist the Consenting & Land Manager with external stakeholder communication including engaging with iwi/hapu and affected parties under the Resource Management Act.Experience and KnowledgeBachelor's Degree in Resource and Environmental Planning or similar.Minimum of 5 years Planning experience.Thorough understanding of the Resource Management Act 1991.Relationship building skills.Experience working with resource consents, legislation, and legal documents.Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.Effective communication, negotiation, and strategy skills.Strong organisational skills in relation to planning, record keeping, administration, and meeting deadlines.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and high-performing team.
