Environmental Planner - ConsentsNew Plymouth or TaurangaAbout the role:Are you an experienced environmental planner looking for a new challenge? Perhaps thinking about a change from working either in the public sector or consultancy environment? Powerco might just have the job for you!We're after an environmental planner, with a relevant degree and at least 5 years' planning experience behind them, to join us in January 2026. We need someone self-driven, solid in their planning knowledge and expertise, and keen to work on a wide variety of resource consent applications and provide advice on planning matters to the business. If you are also a confident communicator, comfortable in the Tangata whenua and stakeholder engagement space and highly productive, we would love to hear from you. Added bonuses would be that you have some utilities experience, or maybe even have some experience or interest in the property legal space.Preferably you would be working with us from either our New Plymouth or Tauranga office, but applicants from elsewhere on Powerco's footprint will be considered.Key Responsibilities:Provide advice to the business on RMA consent requirementsPrepare and lodge resource consent applications, Notices of Requirement and Outline Plans of WorkDevelop and maintain relationships with planning teams at District and Regional CouncilsConduct stakeholder consultation and assist other team members with project stakeholder and Tangata whenua engagement where requiredCollaboration as required with Powerco's Environment & Sustainability teamContribute to Powerco's collaborative, safe, and inviting work environment by demonstrating the organisation's Nga TikangaIdeal experience and skills:Relevant qualifications in resource management or environmental planningStrong understanding of environmental legislationMinimum of 5 years' experience (Intermediate or Senior Planner)Strong communication and interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented and highly organizedWhy Powerco:You would be joining a hard working but fun-loving and supportive team, who are responsible for advising on and securing Powerco's property rights and resource consents.Applications close: Friday 22 November 2024Our ability to get the best out of people is what sets Powerco apart.
