The primary focus of this role is to carry out inspections and investigations, as a warranted enforcement officer (under the Resource Management Act 1991), in response to assigned environmental incidents. This covers a range of activity types, including land use activities, discharges, coastal activities and water takes.

Incident response actions include:

Site inspections

Sample collection

Field measurements

Data recording

Interviews

Desk top investigations

Writing reports

It requires the interpretation of legislation and the practical application of regional rules.
