As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for:Monitoring compliance of food businessesLicensing of businesses engaged in health and hygiene activitiesEnforcing relevant legislationYour work will contribute to maintaining, protecting, and improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of the public. In this role, you will undertake registration, verification, and inspection activities for food businesses, as well as licensing processes for hairdressers and health and hygiene establishments. Your contribution will support Council initiatives aimed at safeguarding public health and safety.He korero mou: About youYour background should demonstrate previous experience in Environmental Health, ideally with a focus on conducting inspections and verifications for food businesses, operators, and health and hygiene premises. You should possess appropriate qualifications in Environmental Health or equivalent, recognized under the Environmental Health Officers Qualifications Regulations 1993. Accreditation or approval as a verifier from an ISO accredited organization or the Ministry for Primary Industries will be advantageous. Familiarity with IANZ accredited organizations or other quality management systems is highly desirable.
