In this role, you will be carrying out a wide range of environmental health-related duties and functions. You will use your training, expertise, and skills to investigate and resolve issues and complaints around: excessive and unreasonable noise, food safety and suitability, health protection (e.g., tattooing, skin piercing, solaria, etc.), statutory nuisances (e.g., insanitary dwellings, hoarding, overcrowding, etc.), HSNO (e.g., chemical storage on residential properties, etc.), and water quality. You will be organised and proactive in prioritising and time management. You will be a natural communicator and an adept negotiator with an inherent ability to resolve conflict. He korero mou: About you You will be committed to providing first-rate customer service and must be a qualified Environmental Health Officer. You will be eligible to be warranted as a Food Safety Officer and an enforcement officer under HSNO. You will be competent and comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team. You will possess the ability to interpret information and advise and educate accordingly. You will take a collaborative approach to work and have a high customer focus. We are looking for a candidate with a broad knowledge of environmental health and at least one year of working experience. You will be committed to the principles of quality management and continual improvement. A current New Zealand Drivers Licence is essential. You will be required to work after hours, weekends, and public holidays where necessary.
