The role: Environmental, Health and Safety Manager
· Liaising with different regional and city councils to work on the resource consents and taking key responsibility of the overall environmental compliance of the projects and subdivisions.
· Prequalification's for future and current construction clients and sub-contractors on an ongoing basis.
· Developing and implementing environmental strategies and action plans that ensure sustainable development of the residential subdivisions.
· Leading the implementation of environmental policies and practices and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.
· Assessing, analysing, and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, clients, and regulatory bodies.
· Confirming that construction materials, ingredients, and so forth are ethically sourced and manageable.
· Managing construction and strategy budgets and project management.
· To lead the creation and delivery of a safe working strategy consistent with our standards, guiding principles and complying with applicable NZ legislation.
· To be the source of expert knowledge to drive ongoing improvement in the Health and Safety space.
· Facilitate the effective delivery and documentation of all site EHS measures and compliance including audits.
· To ensure clear, appropriate, and timely high-level Health and Safety communications across all levels of the business
· Provide mentoring and coaching in the EHS disciplines.
· Managing on site incident investigations and identifying corrective actions.
· Conducting regular on-site Compliance, Health, and Safety audits, working with stakeholders to assess risks.
· Implement the organisation's health, safety, and environmental framework, plans, and policies.
· Assess organisational risk and support the implementation of projects accordingly.
About You
· Positive, proactive, can-do attitude
· Relevant Degree in formal EHS qualification and training
· Minimum 3 years of experience in a EHS position and dealing with city and regional councils
· Proven experience in influencing site personnel to take personal ownership of Health and safety
· A working knowledge of the Health and Safety Work Act
· A working knowledge of ISO 14001
· Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, reporting tools and risk management and database management
· Full Driver's Licence
