Our Reporoa site has an exciting job share opportunity for a motivated Environmental Cleaner & Laboratory Technician to form part of our high performing team and help deliver outstanding results to support our manufacturing operations on a permanent basis.
Role Accountabilities: You'll be part of a multi-functional Environmental and Lab Team, playing your role in ensuring we remain environmentally responsible. Your great attitude, along with your attention to detail and mechanical aptitude, will see you succeed in this role.
The Environmental Cleaner / Lab Technician shares time supporting our Process Operators to maintain food manufacturing hygiene, safety and cleanliness standards while looking after the external environment of our site with grounds maintenance.
You will be responsible for:
Cleaning following schedules and standards;
Cleaning and stocking hygiene areas, washrooms and filter houses;
Managing rubbish collection and disposal;
Coordinating pest control;
Lawns and grounds maintenance;
Data entry and compliance documentation;
Monitoring and calibrating instruments;
Retrieving sample requests;
Sample collection and dispatch;
Basic lab tests;
Experience with SAP, Excel, and Equal in the Food Manufacturing Industry would be an advantage;
An understanding of Pathogen and Pest Control.
Your great attitude, along with your attention to detail and mechanical aptitude, will see you succeed in this role. The job may require you to move to other departments when the workload changes through seasonal and production fluctuations. For example, the workload and tasks will vary from plant work, lab work, environmental cleaning, and grounds maintenance.
Skills & Experience: Whilst a passion for working in a food processing plant is a pivotal aspect of this role, we are also looking for someone who is:
Committed to strong quality, health and safety in the workplace and in your practices.
A fast learner, able to self-manage and prioritise work accordingly.
Assisting plant operators with day-to-day processes, daily monitoring, reporting, and sampling/subsampling.
Ensuring completion of regular compliance activities and documentation.
Physically fit and comfortable working with chemicals, including cleaning products.
Having relevant work experience and understanding of hygiene standards.
Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
