Job Description
As our Environmental Advisor, you'll be instrumental in shaping and executing our national environmental management strategy. You will guide the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in developing and achieving our vision for environmental performance. Your role includes overseeing and providing guidance on the Company's compliance with environmental consents and related bylaws, maintaining compliance systems, and managing environmental liabilities. You will offer timely and comprehensive support by reviewing and managing sampling results for various environmental factors, coordinating and conducting internal audits, and preparing documentation for external audits. Additionally, you'll liaise with Local, Regional, and National Government bodies to ensure our operations align with regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
Skills/Requirements:
Advise the ELT on developing and achieving the Company's environmental performance vision.
Oversee environmental compliance, including maintaining relevant registers and managing environmental liabilities.
Provide guidance on environmental sampling results and ensure timely, comprehensive advice on environmental matters.
Drive continual improvement in environmental performance and ensure alignment with ISO systems.
Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare reports, and manage environmental documentation.
Handle environmental incidents, including investigation, corrective planning, and clean-up efforts.
Liaise with government bodies, manage consents and compliance databases, and represent the Company in regulatory and external matters.
Qualifications:
Significant experience (10+ years) in environmental management of an industrial activity or environmental consultancy services.
In-depth knowledge of the RMA.
Experience in RMA applications, compliance plans, environmental management plans.
Experience in implementing quality and environmental systems.
Bachelor of Environmental Sciences or Engineering (essential).
Postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Management (desirable).
